Fire Will Fool You™
Fire Safety and Prevention Show
One of the greatest dangers for children in the home is fire. Every year there are over 25,000 house fires in homes across Canada. And every day, there are children who get hurt or die in home fires. In fact, children account for half of all home fire victims; they are the most vulnerable and likely to be hurt in a fire. That is why it is extremely important to focus on fire safety with young children.
Many people (children and parents) aren't aware of how dangerous fires are and how quickly they spread. They also may not know how to prevent fires and help reduce injuries if they occur.
Fortunately, Clinton W. Gray Can Help...
Clinton W. Gray is a professional children's magician who presents Motivational Magic programs for thousands of school children, at hundreds of school across Canada each year. His newest show, Fire Will Fool You, combines magic, music, storytelling, and audience participation, with a vitally important Fire Safety message. Developed in partnership with SIID Consulting and Station One, this engaging and memorable program teaches children how to:
- stay safe in the home
- escape from a burning building
- prevent fires
- reduce or eliminate burn injures
- save lives with a phone
- properly operate a smoke alarm
- identify fire hazards
- be a hero by STAYING OUT!

Why the Fire Will Fool You™ show is so effective at Educating Children...
Entertaining & Educational: Children learn about fire safety with a combination of Entertainment and Education, the very best way to teach children. Why? When students are having fun and enjoying themselves they are much more receptive to the ideas and messages being presented.
Magic: Kids love magic. This is especially true in the last few years with the success of the Harry Potter franchise. Magic is used to illustrate the key points so that when the children remember the magic trick they remember the message as well. It is the perfect hook.
Audience participation: As you know, children don't want to just sit and watch, they want to get involved and when they're involved they're learning. The Fire Will Fool You program gets everyone involved in many ways:
- Stop, Drop, and Rolling in the Aisles: the students do the teaching as they instruct a professional firefighter how to extinguish his (pretend) burning jacket
- The Arm Chopper of Doom: a brave volunteer learns about controlling her fear so that she can make important decisions in an emergency
- Mr. Fire, The Mystifyer: a magic smoke alarm reads the minds of students and teachers
- Get Out, Herbie: Herbie the Hanky, is assisted by students and learns the importance of "Get Out and Stay Out!"
- Teach-a-Trick: As a reward for passing a Fire Safety Test, Clinton shares one of his magical secrets with the entire audience

Here Are The Important Details...
Who:
For over 20 years, Clinton W. Gray, has been presenting high-energy, interactive comedy shows around the world. He is in constant demand performing over 250 shows a year at schools, conferences, tradeshows and festivals. A ten-time international award winning comedy magician, his performances have been described as “a roller-coaster ride of antics, that cause audiences to be belly-laughing one moment and speechless with amazement the next.” (Edmonton Journal)
What:
Fire Will Fool You™, blends magic, music and comedy into a high-energy, interactive educational show. The show is 45 minutes long with a 10 minute question and answer following the performance and is designed to include children aged 6 to 12. The program is completely self contained and can be performed anywhere from a school room to a full theatre. Clinton provides everything, including his own tables and sound system, so there is nothing you have setup and nothing you have to worry about.
When:
Typically, Clinton tours this show in early fall (Sept & October), and late winter (February - April). Although the program is available outside these months, it would need to be booked as "one-off" event, rather than part of a tour.
Because of his extremely busy schedule, it is important to book dates at least two seasons ahead. For example, if you are considering Clinton for a date in March 2011, you should be contacting him in September 2010. This is especially true for school shows, since Clinton needs to do all the schools in one area at the same time.
Where:
This show is available for all schools (private and public), fairs, festivals, community events and fire departments. The school show is an assembly program, performed in the school gym or theatre. At fairs and festivals, it is best to present the program as a tent show. Fire departments can do the show at a local theatre, community hall, or even as part of an open house.
Why:
That's simple. This program will save children's lives. Enough said.
